Hurricane Otis recently struck the coast of Acapulco, Guerrero, Mexico, leaving a trail of significant damage in its wake. As a result, many people have lost their homes, suffered injuries, and some have even lost their lives.

In response to this crisis, we are launching a fundraising campaign to support the affected individuals. Our main goal is to provide humanitarian assistance to those in dire need during this challenging situation.

The funds raised will be allocated to provide basic relief and urgent necessities such as food, water, medicine, and shelter. We will also implement a medium and long-term strategy focusing on the reconstruction of homes, educational and healthcare facilities, to help communities recover and rebuild their lives.

INTERVENTION:
PHASE 01: IMMEDIATE RESPONSE:

· We collected 4.8 tons of food and personal care items intended for communities in the state of Guerrero. Thanks to the support of 8 of our corporate partners: Angstrom Electric Mexico, Aptiv, Commscope, Eaton, Harman Juárez, Lear Corporation, Toro, and Yazaki. Over 1,600 volunteers took part in this initiative.
· We will provide $2,001,717.87 pesos to the National Red Cross for the delivery of food, hygiene, cleaning kits, and support for humanitarian aid mobilization, impacting the lives of over 870 families, approximately 4,300 individuals.
· The benefited communities include places such as Bonfil, Lomas de Chapultepec, Barra Vieja, San Pedro las playas, Puerto Márquez, La Poza, Luis Donaldo Colosio, Costera Miguel Alemán, Guerrero 2000, and Jardín, among others, where the Mexican Red Cross has provided vital support.

PHASE 02: MEDIUM-TERM RECOVERY (1 TO 6 MONTHS):

· Our operational allies are already in the area conducting assessments of urgent needs, focusing our resources on actions directly impacting key social causes. Hand in hand with our partner, Habitat for Humanity Mexico A.C., we will start roof repairs in communities like Lomitas and San Jose. Currently, we are investing $500,000 for this purpose, impacting the lives of over 100 people.
· We have identified more communities to expand the number of roofs to be repaired.

In January 2024, we will deploy a community health brigade to Guerrero communities to address prevention and care for affected families.

PHASE 03: LONG-TERM RECONSTRUCTION (1 YEAR):

· Rehabilitation and construction of homes for families affected by the hurricane.
·Implementation of a preventive campaign in public education schools about disaster preparedness recommendations.

We will be closely assessing the most pressing needs of our affected community so that, UNITED, we can implement the necessary actions and ensure that they reach where they are needed most.

WE ARE HOPING TO IMPACT THE LIVES OF OVER 20,000 PEOPLE.
